Frances Pelletier works primarily with acrylics on canvas. She enjoys painting realistically but has tried her hand at abstract and impressionism. Trees, old buildings and vehicles as well as farm scenes are a favorite subject in her art. She hopes to preserve a bit of rural history with the painting of every rural scene. Her farm in Sturgeon County provides a variety of subject matter.
Frances discovered her love of painting just over a year ago, so she is still striving to develop her own style. Being passionate about her art is just one trait that helps her along in her artistic endeavors.
Eager to explore the art world, Frances has taken part in several St. Albert Art Walks, Griesbach Shake at the Lake & Art Walk, Art from the Unknown (Edmonton) and The Art World Expo (Edmonton). You may view her art on her website (www.fdp-artworks.com) or on Instagram (fdpelletier). Her work is currently on display at the VASA Corridor Gallery in St. Albert. For the month of July, Frances will be the feature artist at the DCC Alberta Lottery Fund Gallery in Fort Saskatchewan. She will be participating in the popular Edmonton Whyte Ave Art Walk in July.
Several pieces of her work are now at home in private collections within Canada and even the USA. She completed her first commissioned work in November of 2017 and is looking forward to pursuing this avenue in the future.
