Originally, when I started this piece, I only had the brick wall in mind.  I wasn't sure what was going to be painted on it.  Then I saw an image on Unsplash (photo credit Alora Griffiths), and it inspired me to paint this strong woman who seemingly had been plastered over.  Now, the plaster is breaking away and revealing the powerful image underneath.  "Girl Power" became a statement piece that speaks to strong women who are breaking free of whatever is holding them back.
